Now…before you get all “Chopped: Grill Master” on me…these are NOT, I repeat, NOT for the intense grilling ninja. These are literally easy ways to make yummy food that INVOLVE a grill/flame. I don’t want to end up with hate mail from all the grilling purists. Without further ado, here are some of our FAVORITE Springtime foods. Click on each title to be directed to the recipe/awesomeness.

  • DISH Group at Hy Vee: I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, the “Dinner is Solved at Hy-Vee” (DISH) groups are phenomenal. Two hours of time and I leave with 10 freezer friendly meals, about $2.50/serving. This time of year, we have lots of grill friendly marinated dishes that are a breeze to toss on in a time crunch. Contact your local Hy-Vee for their group meeting times. Or if you’re nervous about joining a new group, comment below and join mine! We don’t bite, promise.

  • Foil Packs: The only thing better than an easy meal is an easy meal cooked on a grill. This is a hack/recipe duo because Wide Open Eats has compiled, count ’em, TWENTY easy foil pack recipes for the grill. And while your packing all your all-in-one meal onto a square of foil, double up and freeze half of your batch. Just make sure you leave a little extra space in the foil pack for air expansion. This deliciousness has any number of grill recipes and hacks.

  • Morey’s Wild Caught Marinated Seasoned Salmon: I am not usually a fan of pre-packaged frozen foods but AYE AYE CAPTAIN these are insanely good. No need to prep. Just defrost in the sink and plop them on the grill. My 4 year old eats them like they’re ice cream.

  • Next time you make a burger, use your thumb to make a small indent and place an ice cube on top to prevent them from drying out.

  • Everyone knows about beer can chicken…but don’t forget all kinds of other delicious things come in cans and make for a stellar grilled bird. Canned wine and Dr. Pepper are just the beginning for these fabulous grill recipes and hacks!

  • When making kabobs, make sure you soak your skewers in water for 30 minutes before grilling to prevent burning.

  • Gonna go easy and make a frozen pizza? DO IT ON THE GRILL and thank me later!
