I had been thinking about starting a book club with our QC Moms and felt like now was the perfect opportunity to do just that. We all have tons of time on our hands, right? (ha ha ha ha ha)
Every time I read an amazing book I want to immediately share it with everyone I know. I love to read and I love when reading makes me a better person. I love sharing that love with other book lovers. I know that we have plenty of moms who read here in the Quad Cities, and this book club is for you!
My hope is that we will be able to connect over books we love. The plan is to read the book, then chat about it over on the Facebook group for now. Then hopefully in the future, we will host Quad City Moms Book Clubs in person at some of our favorite local businesses.
Our first book will be
A blurb about The Little Paris Bookshop:
Monsieur Perdu can prescribe the perfect book for a broken heart. But can he fix his own?
Monsieur Perdu calls himself a literary apothecary. From his floating bookstore in a barge on the Seine, he prescribes novels for the hardships of life. Using his intuitive feel for the exact book a reader needs, Perdu mends broken hearts and souls. The only person he can’t seem to heal through literature is himself; he’s still haunted by heartbreak after his great love disappeared. She left him with only a letter, which he has never opened.
After Perdu is finally tempted to read the letter, he hauls anchor and departs on a mission to the south of France, hoping to make peace with his loss and discover the end of the story. Joined by a bestselling but blocked author and a lovelorn Italian chef, Perdu travels along the country’s rivers, dispensing his wisdom and his books, showing that the literary world can take the human soul on a journey to heal itself.

Mark your calendars for April 30th @ 8:00 PM for our first Quad Cities book club meeting happening over on Facebook in our new QC Moms Book Club Group.
Join the Facebook Group now and start getting connected! We can’t wait to chat about The Little Paris Bookshop with you!
