Spring Time Fun for Little Ones (and big kids too!)

0

Spring in the Quad Cities means a lot of cold days, rainy days, sunny days, and windy days; and often all on the same day!  As I’m always telling my kids, there is no bad weather, only inappropriate clothing. Nevertheless, we need lots of indoor and outdoor options here in the Quad Cities when planning spring time fun for our little ones.

There are so many fun things to do around the Quad Cities and the longer I live here the greater appreciation I have for the various ways to have fun with my little ones.

-The Mississippi- Have you done this with the kiddos? Whether you are pushing a stroller, wearing a baby, or keeping up with kids on scooters, you can have a fabulous time along the river. Seeing the ducks make their way to the water, bikers buzz by, and the caps on the river always fun to watch! You could even print off our scavenger hunt for your preschoolers.

-Niabi Zoo- It is open! You need to decide if you’re going to go in the morning or afternoon and prebook your tickets due to COVID regulations, but you need to take advantage of this wonderful zoo that is proud to call the Quad Cities home.

-VanderVeer Park and Conservatory- Along with the pretty pond, the fountain and the ducks to feed outside, the conservatory offers a beautiful exploration of plants and science inside! It’s the ultimate in springtime fun for little ones.

-A picnic- Make sandwiches or buy Lunchables. Go to a park or put a blanket in your yard. Get outside with your family and enjoy a simple sandwich with the little people who love you the mostest. Nothing ushers in summer and is spring time fun for little ones like a picnic!

What are your favorite ways to have spring time fun with your little ones?
